Bepensa Invests US$71M in New Yucatan Plant Amid Coca-Cola Bottler Spending Spree
Bepensa Bebidas and the Mexican Coca-Cola Industry have launched a new plant in Yucatan, Mexico, following an investment of over MX$1.2 billion (US$71.01M). The Planta Centenario Valladolid facility will increase Bepensa's capacity for 100% returnable carbonated products by 30%, and is expected to supply approximately 25% of current beverage demand across the Yucatan Peninsula.
The project was developed in approximately 18 months and covers more than 130,000 square meters within a 380,000-square-meter property. The new plant will give Bepensa additional capacity to serve customers in Yucatan and Quintana Roo while strengthening its regional distribution network.
Alonso Gasque Toraya, CEO of Grupo Bepensa, highlighted the plant's role in strengthening the company's ability to serve markets in Yucatan and Quintana Roo. The facility will also create more than 200 direct jobs.
