Berkshire Hathaway's significant investment in Alphabet is drawing attention to the AI-first company. Berkshire Hathaway has increased its stake in Alphabet, making it the conglomerate's third-largest position.

According to recent 13F filings, Berkshire Hathaway purchased over 48 million shares of Alphabet during Q2, bringing its combined position to around 12.6% of its equity portfolio.

The investment comes as no surprise given Warren Buffett's track record with tech companies. In fact, he initiated the first Alphabet buy before stepping down as CEO of Berkshire Hathaway.

Alphabet is benefiting from AI in multiple ways, including through its Google Search engine, large language model families, and Google Cloud infrastructure platform.
