Berkshire Hathaway Pours Billions into Alphabet Stake Amid Burry's Spending Concerns
Berkshire Hathaway significantly increased its stake in Alphabet (GOOGL), buying nearly $17 billion worth of shares, making it the company's third-largest equity holding.
The move comes after investor Michael Burry expressed concerns about Berkshire's spending under new CEO Greg Abel, stating that his early moves appear to be 'framing moves' rather than real investments.
Berkshire now owns approximately 106 million Alphabet shares, valued at around $36.6 billion, surpassing Coca-Cola's stake of $35.1 billion but still trailing Apple's position of $69.7 billion and American Express's holding of $51.9 billion.
The company also lifted its stakes in Delta Air Lines by 44% and Macy's by 142%, while adding to its holdings in homebuilder Lennar, Taylor Morrison, and other companies.
