Best Buy Steals Top Spot from Home Depot in JD Power's Appliance Satisfaction Study
JD Power's latest U.S. Appliance Satisfaction Study reveals that Best Buy has taken the top spot in customer satisfaction for home appliance retailers, surpassing Home Depot and Costco. This marks a significant improvement from its third-place finish in 2025, where it scored 718 points out of 1,000. The study surveyed over 28,400 consumers who purchased a home appliance between April 2025 and April 2026.
The results show that customer satisfaction with appliances has increased overall, with six-point improvements for products and 23-point increases for retailers. Despite the average price of an appliance rising by $54 since 2025, customers reported having no issues buying their new appliances, with 87% saying so.
JD Power's study also ranked specific appliance brands across various categories, with traditional big names like Maytag and KitchenAid performing well in some areas. However, it's worth noting that another study by ACSI found Whirlpool refrigerators to be the highest-ranked for customer satisfaction in 2025.
