Bethesda Devs Continue to Protest Layoffs as Morale Hits New Low
Unionised developers at Bethesda's Elder Scrolls studio are continuing to protest Microsoft's mass layoffs across Xbox studios. The latest round of rallies, dubbed Save Our Devs, were held outside nine locations in the US and Canada on August 18th.
According to unionised developer Nathan Hahn, 'morale for our work at our jobs has never been lower' since the layoffs. However, he noted that morale related to the devs' efforts to collectively organise is 'on the upswing'.
The Communication Workers of America (CWA)-supported protests have been ongoing since April, with the CWA and their Canadian offshoot CWA Canada filing unfair labour practice complaints against Microsoft over the layoffs via the US National Labour Relations Board (NLRB) last month.
