Bethpage Union Free School District Earns Second Google Reference District Designation
Bethpage Union Free School District has been recognized as a Google for Education Reference District for the second time, solidifying its commitment to innovation in using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
The district was the first on Long Island to earn this designation back when it was called the Google Reference District, recognizing its pioneering use of Google tools such as Google Workspace for Education and Chromebooks.
Since then, Bethpage has continued to expand the role of technology in the classroom, giving students and staff access to tools that support collaboration, creativity, and real-world learning.
The district's recertification was led by John F. Kennedy Middle School Computer Literacy teacher Shannon Tedesco as part of the Google for Education Reference Program's new recertification process, which requires participating schools and districts to demonstrate continued use of Google tools through a case study.
