Liverpool FC's owners have agreed to sell a minority stake in the Premier League club to a consortium led by Amit Bhatia, a British-Indian millionaire. The deal values Liverpool at between £5 billion and £6 billion.

The consortium includes Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who is investing through his venture capital firm K5 Sports. According to reports, the stake acquired by the consortium is around one-third of the club. FSG will retain majority ownership and operational control of Liverpool.

'We are incredibly proud to be investing in Liverpool Football Club and to be doing so alongside FSG,' Bhatia said. 'To be welcomed as a partner in a club of this stature is a huge privilege.'
