Google Updates Pixel Phones with New Android 17 QPR2 Beta 3

Google has released Android 17 QPR2 Beta 3 for Pixel phones. The update is available immediately to owners of Pixel 6a through Pixel 10 series, including the Pixel 10a. However, the new Pixel 11 series is not included yet.

The latest beta version adds security restrictions to protect against programmatic call forwarding fraud. According to Google, the changes include API restrictions on sending USSD requests for call-forwarding codes using only the CALL_PHONE permission.

Additionally, users will now see a new OS-level confirmation dialog when manually dialing call-forwarding codes in the system dialer. This is aimed at combating social engineering scams.

Google has also fixed two bugs in this update: visual corruption and device restarts when opening the notification shade and Quick Settings menu, as well as false battery capacity degradation warnings from the Device Health and Support tool.
