Jeff Bezos has sold $350 million worth of Amazon shares, part of a larger plan to divest up to 15 million shares potentially valued at over $4 billion.

The sale comes as Amazon's market value reaches record highs driven by strong performance in its cloud computing segment.

Bezos remains Amazon's largest individual shareholder with an estimated 8.16 per cent stake in the company, despite the share sale.

AWS has been a key driver of Amazon's valuation, with the company achieving a $3 trillion market capitalisation milestone recently.

Bezos' net worth has increased by approximately $38.7 billion this year, taking his total fortune close to $292 billion.
