Bezos Sells $4 Billion of Amazon Shares After Record Stock High
Amazon's stock hit an all-time high on Monday after strong quarterly earnings from the company. The news led to Jeff Bezos, Amazon's founder, filing a plan to sell about 15 million shares worth around $4.1 billion.
The sales were carried out under a Rule 10b5-1 trading plan that Bezos adopted on November 14, 2025. Morgan Stanley handled the transactions, which took place on Monday.
Ahead of the filing, Amazon's stock closed at $284.02 on Monday. However, after the news became public, shares fell more than 2% to $277.42 on Tuesday. Despite this decline, the stock remains up about 20% this year, outperforming a 12% gain in the S&P 500 index.
