Romania's national airline Tarom has marked an important milestone in its fleet expansion plans. The company announced that the first of four Boeing 737 MAX aircraft has successfully completed its first test flight, paving the way for its entry into the fleet at the end of August.

The second Boeing MAX is scheduled to arrive in early September, with two more set to join the fleet in the spring of next year. This significant investment aims to upgrade Tarom's fleet and improve its services.

Interim Transport Minister Radu Miruță has expressed his support for the airline, stating that he will notify the European Commission about the situation and try to convince decision-makers at the European level that Tarom is a viable company.
