Jeff Bezos, Amazon's founder, has filed to sell approximately 15 million shares of the company through Morgan Stanley. The sale is valued at around $4.1 billion and follows Amazon's stock reaching a record high after stronger-than-expected quarterly earnings. The decision was part of a pre-arranged trading plan adopted in November 2025.

Despite selling these shares, Bezos remains one of Amazon's largest shareholders. He has previously sold stock through similar plans to fund ventures such as Blue Origin. In May, he donated 220,200 shares to nonprofit organizations, which may have been sold prior to the donation.

AWS revenue surged 36.7% to $42.2 billion in Q1, marking its strongest growth since 2021. Amazon's shares have increased 23% this year, outperforming the S&P 500's 12% gain. The company's market value recently surpassed $3 trillion.
