Bezos Sells $4.1B in Amazon Shares Amid Tech Giant's Record-Breaking Growth
Amazon's stock value surged past $3 trillion for the first time after a strong Q2 earnings report, but cooled slightly after founder Jeff Bezos' plan to sell nearly $4.1 billion of his shares was revealed.
The sale, which is being carried out under a Rule 10b5-1 trading plan adopted in November 2025, will see Bezos reduce his stake from about 884 million shares to around 869 million shares, or 8.1% of Amazon's outstanding shares.
Bezos' previous sale of 25 million shares for nearly $5.7 billion between late June and late July has seen him unload about $50 billion of Amazon stock since 2002, according to Bloomberg data.
The latest plan follows a trend of Bezos using prearranged trading plans to sell shares in the tech giant, with some proceeds going toward his other ventures, particularly Blue Origin.
