Big Tech AI Giants Accused of Secretly Slowing Down Innovation
A new antitrust lawsuit has been filed against four major artificial intelligence (AI) companies - Anthropic, OpenAI, SpaceXAI, and Google - alleging that they collectively slowed down AI development to avoid competition.
The lawsuit claims that the executives of these companies secretly agreed on Saturday to limit the pace of AI progress after publicly endorsing an essay advocating for 'limits on the rate of unchecked AI progress.'
According to the complaint, this agreement among competitors violates antitrust rules, specifically Section 1 of the Sherman Act.
