Billionaire Investors Load Up on Alphabet Stock Amid Talent Flight Concerns
Berkshire Hathaway and several billionaire investors have taken a significant interest in Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL), the parent company of Google, through their second-quarter 13F filings. The filings show that Berkshire Hathaway added 24.5 million shares to its existing position, making it the company's largest holding.
The billionaires involved are Stanley Druckenmiller, Seth Klarman, David Tepper, and Dan Loeb, all of whom have purchased shares in Alphabet during the second quarter. Druckenmiller's Duquesne Family Office opened a new position with 336,300 shares worth $120 million.
Alphabet's recent earnings report showed strong growth, with EPS of $9.11 against an estimate of $3.04 and revenue up 24.2% year over year. However, the company has faced challenges in retaining senior AI talent, with several top researchers leaving in recent months.
