Biman Bangladesh Airlines Bolsters Fleet with New Boeing Jet Orders
Biman Bangladesh Airlines has placed an order for 11 more Boeing jets as part of its fleet modernization and international growth strategy. The purchase includes five 787-10 and six 737-8 airplanes, which will add to the airline's existing order book of 25 787 Dreamliner and 737 MAX jets. This is Biman's second major purchase this year.
The agreement was signed on September 23, 2026, with Boeing and Biman Bangladesh Airlines announcing the deal. Government leaders attended the signing ceremony, including Bangladeshi Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism M. Rashiduzzaman Millat and U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick.
Biman currently operates a mix of 787, 777, and 737 Next-Generation airplanes across its international network. The addition of the 737-8 and 787-10 jets will bring greater range and capacity to the airline's fleet, supporting its strategy to modernize its operations and expand global connectivity.
The Boeing order reflects Biman's commitment to developing its network and capabilities in response to the connectivity needs of Bangladesh. The airline aims to strengthen the country's international connectivity in the years ahead.
