Biman Bangladesh Airlines Doubles Down on Boeing Order
Biman Bangladesh Airlines has placed an additional order for 11 aircraft from Boeing. The latest deal consists of five B787-10 and six B737-8 MAX planes, which will expand the airline's fleet significantly.
This is in addition to a previous order placed by Biman with Boeing in April 2026, which included 14 aircraft: eight 787-10s, two 787-9s, and four 737 MAX 8 aircraft. The total number of aircraft ordered from Boeing in 2026 now stands at 25.
The deal was signed on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, with the US Secretary of Commerce, Howard Lutnick, and the Deputy Secretary of State, Christopher Landau, present, along with the Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism of Bangladesh, Rashiduzzaman Millat.
Biman's Chairman, Rumee A Hossain, emphasized that this order is part of the airline's ongoing plans to expand its fleet and network. He stated, 'This agreement is one part of a broader, carefully considered plan to strengthen the country's international connectivity in the years ahead.'
