Biman Bangladesh Doubles Down on Boeing Orders with Latest Deal
Biman Bangladesh Airlines has placed an order for 11 new Boeing aircraft as part of its fleet renewal and expansion plans. The airline, which operates Boeing 777s, earlier-generation 737s, and existing Dreamliners, will receive five Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners and six 737-8s.
The 787-10s are intended to add capacity alongside Biman's existing 787-8 and 787-9 aircraft, while the 737-8s will support its shorter-haul network. This order follows an earlier one in 2026 for 14 Boeing jets, bringing the carrier's total orders this year to 25.
Rumee A. Hossain, Biman chairman, stated that the additional aircraft address specific requirements in the airline's fleet plan. The carrier aims to develop connections serving travellers from Bangladesh, its expatriate communities, businesses, and tourism.
