Biman Bangladesh Orders Additional 11 Boeing Jets for Fleet Expansion

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has ordered 11 more Boeing aircraft to expand its fleet. The order includes five 787-10 and six 737-8 jets, which will help the airline modernize its fleet and increase international connectivity.

The purchase builds on Biman's largest-ever order for 14 787 Dreamliner and 737 MAX airplanes earlier this year. The addition of these new aircraft strengthens Biman's established Boeing fleet, ensuring seamless commonality across operations.

Biman currently operates 787, 777, and 737 Next-Generation airplanes across its international network. The airline aims to modernize its fleet and expand global connectivity, with the new aircraft delivering 20-25% more fuel efficiency compared to their predecessors.

According to Biman's chairman, Rumee A. Hossain, 'Today's supplemental agreement is an important step in Biman's ongoing fleet renewal and network expansion.' The airline plans to use the new aircraft to support Bangladesh's growing role in global aviation.
