Biman Expands Fleet with 11 New Boeing Aircraft
Biman Bangladesh Airlines has continued its fleet expansion plans by signing an agreement with Boeing to purchase 11 additional aircraft. The deal was announced during the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, where a signing ceremony took place.
The airline has ordered five 787-10 Dreamliners and six 737-8 jets from Boeing, which will expand Biman's fleet to 25 aircraft. This new purchase follows its largest-ever aircraft order earlier this year, worth $3.7 billion, when it agreed to buy 14 planes.
Rumee A Hossain, chairman of the Biman Bangladesh Airlines board of directors, and Brad McMullen, Boeing's senior vice president of Commercial Sales and Marketing, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
