Biman Expands Fleet with New Boeing Orders

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has made a significant move to expand its fleet by ordering 11 more Boeing aircraft. The latest order comprises five 787-10 Dreamliners and six 737-8 jets, bringing Biman's total Boeing orders this year to 25.

The agreement was announced at a press briefing in New York on Wednesday by State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir while accompanying Prime Minister Tarique Rahman for the UN General Assembly.

Mahdi Amin, the prime minister's adviser, explained that the purchase is driven by plans to expand Bangladesh's aviation sector and launch new routes. 'Bangladesh's aviation sector is expanding, and there are plans to launch new routes,' he said. 'For this reason, new aircraft are needed.'
