Biman Orders 11 More Boeing Aircraft to Expand Fleet
Biman Bangladesh Airlines, the country's flag carrier, has placed an order for 11 more Boeing aircraft to expand its fleet. This latest purchase brings the airline's total order book to 25 787 Dreamliner and 737 MAX jets.
The order includes five 787-10 and six 737-8 jets, which will help the airline modernize its fleet and increase international connectivity. Biman currently operates a mix of 787, 777, and 737 Next-Generation aircraft across its international network.
According to Boeing, the 787 Dreamliner and 737 MAX families deliver up to 25% more fuel efficiency compared to older models, supporting Biman's strategy to modernize its fleet and expand global connectivity. The addition of the 737-8 and 787-10 will also ensure seamless commonality across operations.
Biman's chairman, Rumee A. Hossain, said that the order is an important step in the airline's ongoing fleet renewal and network expansion. He added that the team's working relationship with Boeing has given them confidence in the delivery and support arrangements.
