Biman Orders More Boeing Jets for International Expansion

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has ordered 11 Boeing jets to expand its international network. The purchase includes five 787-10 and six 737-8 airplanes.

The order is a follow-on to Biman's earlier purchase of 14 Boeing planes this year, bringing the airline's total order book for Boeing aircraft to 25. The new planes are expected to be more fuel-efficient than those they replace, offering a 20-25% improvement in efficiency.

Biman operates over its international network, connecting Bangladesh with major hubs in the Middle East, South and Southeast Asia, and Europe. The airline's chairman, Mr. Rumee A Hossain, said that the new planes will help Biman to strengthen its position as a leading carrier in the region.
