Biman Bangladesh Airlines has launched a new Request for Proposal (RFP) to lease three Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners for six years after a poor response to its initial tender. The national flag carrier had previously floated the RFP on July 15, but it failed to attract suitable bids.

The airline now seeks three Boeing 787-9 aircraft with immediate induction preferred and delivery by January 1, 2027. Alternatively, aircraft offered for delivery up to February 28, 2027, will also be considered during the technical evaluation.

Under a dry lease agreement, Biman would assume responsibility for operating the aircraft, including pilots, cabin crew, maintenance, and insurance. The lessor would provide the planes while the airline handles their day-to-day operation.
