Bio-Techne Shareholders Back Merck KGaA Acquisition
Bio-Techne Corporation's shareholders have given their approval for the company to be acquired by Merck KGaA. The Special Meeting of Shareholders, held on a Wednesday, saw the approval granted, with the final voting results to be reported in a Form 8-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
The waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act expired on September 18, 2026, and Bio-Techne expects the transaction to close by late 2026 or early 2027, subject to remaining regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
Bio-Techne's President and Chief Executive Officer, Kim Kelderman, expressed gratitude for the shareholders' support, calling it an 'important milestone towards completing the transaction.'
