Bitget Wallet Introduces Assetback Rewards with Tokenized Equities
Bitget Wallet has introduced Assetback, a rewards program that converts eligible spending on its Visa and Mastercard-backed card into Bitcoin, gold (via the XAUT token), or tokenized US equities and ETFs. Users can select their preferred asset within the app, and the conversion happens automatically at the point of settlement without requiring a brokerage account or secondary app.
The program offers up to 3% cashback and went live globally on August 1, 2026. Stablecoins are also available as an alternative for users who prefer them. The tokenized equity component is provided through xStocks, Payward's framework for tokenized real-world assets.
The company's chief operating officer, Alvin Kan, claims that traditional card rewards programs have returned cash or points due to infrastructure limitations, but this is no longer the case with Assetback. The program embeds a dollar-cost averaging mechanic into everyday spending, allowing users to accumulate fractional positions over time rather than leaving their money uninvested.
Bitget Wallet Card spending has nearly tripled in the first half of 2026, with transaction frequency and average values moving toward those of traditional consumer cards. The sector-level data shows that monthly crypto card payment volume reached $656 million in May 2026, more than double the $271 million recorded in May 2025.
