Black Forest Labs Takes on Nvidia in Robotics with FLUX 3 Action

Black Forest Labs has released FLUX 3 Action, an open-weight model that competes directly with Nvidia's Cosmos 3 in general-purpose robot control. The model uses fewer parameters than Cosmos 3 Nano but still leads a prominent simulation benchmark called RoboLab-120.

The key innovation here is the integration of video and action prediction into one shared architecture, allowing the model to predict future visual states and robot commands simultaneously.

FLUX 3 Action has been optimized for faster inference than Cosmos 3 Nano across various hardware configurations. However, it's essential to note that this benchmark is based on simulated tabletop tasks, and real-world performance may vary.
