The hack involves using plastic tubs and sliding drawer rails from Home Depot to create additional drawers. Kendall Azevedo, a Blackstone grill owner, posted a video on Facebook Reels of her husband constructing the DIY storage units.

The process begins by removing the middle shelf of the Blackstone griddle and measuring out the rail spacing. The husband then attaches two sets of rail brackets to the shelf using screws and connects the sliding rails to the plastic tubs. Once assembled, the tub drawers are reattached to the middle shelf.

Azevedo notes that there may be exposed screws sticking up from the middle shelf, but this can be hidden with the tub covers or by adding a metal sheet or pallet wood to create a little shelf. The total cost for the materials is less than $60, making it an affordable and efficient solution.

The DIY storage units have been viewed over 3 million times on social media, showcasing their effectiveness in optimizing outdoor storage and organization.
