Boeing 737 MAX 10 Certification Delayed Amid Software Issue

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has put on hold the certification of Boeing's 737 MAX 10 aircraft due to a newly discovered software issue. According to Reuters, this move sent Boeing shares down by over 6%.

The software problem affects certain 737 MAX aircraft and could prevent pilots from accessing automated flight guidance during a specific landing scenario. However, Boeing stated that pilots still retain control of the aircraft in such situations.

FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford said that certification will remain on hold until regulators are satisfied that the issue has been addressed. He added that a fix could be developed relatively quickly, but it's unclear whether this would take days, weeks, or months.
