Boeing 737 MAX 7 Wins US Certification After Years of Delays

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has granted long-awaited certification to Boeing's 737 MAX 7, more than eight years after its maiden flight. The certification process was significantly prolonged by new requirements under federal legislation following two fatal crashes in 2018 and 2019.

Boeing had originally intended to commence deliveries on the 737 MAX 7 in 2019, but this timeframe fell by the wayside due to safety concerns. To win certification, Boeing completed 441 flight tests over 686 test flight hours.

The certification marks a significant milestone for Boeing's comeback after being plagued by safety issues. The company is also close to winning certification for the 737 MAX 10, with production expected to ramp up in the coming period.
