Boeing 737 Max Glitch Raises Safety Concerns Over Newer Models
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has launched an investigation into a potential safety issue with Boeing's 737 Max aircraft, which could impact newer models. The glitch is linked to a software update in the flight management computer (FMC), causing the vertical navigation system (VNAV) to be incorrectly disengaged during certain landing scenarios.
According to Aviation Week, Boeing was first made aware of the issue in 2024 and convened a formal safety review board in September. The findings have been shared with the FAA, but the glitch had not been publicly disclosed until now.
The investigation is ongoing, and it's unclear what impact this could have on future models or existing aircraft.
