Boeing 737 MAX Software Glitch Raises Safety Concerns for Indian Carriers
A software glitch in Boeing's 737 MAX planes has raised safety concerns for Indian carriers Air India Express and Akasa Air. The issue affects the automated flight guidance system, which can disengage after a missed landing approach if the subsequent path differs from the original plan.
Boeing has identified the problem and is working on a permanent software update to address it. In the meantime, the company has issued an advisory for operators to reset the system following a missed approach as a precautionary measure.
Akasa Air operates 43 Boeing 737 MAX planes, while Air India Express has around 53 such aircraft in its fleet. The airline spokesperson confirmed that there is no impact on the safety of Akasa Air operations, but did not specify whether any of its planes have been affected by the issue.
