Boeing 747 Legacy Replaced by New Breed of Efficient Freighters

Instruments

For over half a century, the Boeing 747 has been a staple in global air freight. However, its production era is coming to an end due to stricter emissions standards and rising operating costs.

The next generation of large freighters will be dominated by two aircraft: the Boeing 777-8F and Airbus A350F.

Neither aircraft is a direct replacement for the 747 freighter, but rather offer better fuel efficiency, lower operating costs, and improved environmental performance on mainstream cargo missions.
