Boeing 767 Attempted Wrong Runway Landing at JFK

A Boeing 767-300 aircraft operated by ABX Air (GB) attempted to land on the wrong runway at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). The crew was cleared to land on Runway 13L, but instead lined up towards Runway 13R, where other aircraft were operating.

The Kennedy Tower controller spotted the mistake and ordered ABX480 to go around from about 600 feet. At the time, one aircraft was departing Runway 13R and another was holding in position, creating a significant runway conflict risk.

The incident occurred during active runway operations at JFK. The tower communication indicates that one aircraft had received takeoff clearance for Runway 13R, while another was instructed to line up and wait on the same runway.
