Boeing 767 Pilot Misaligns with JFK Runway

A near-miss incident occurred at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) when ABX Air's Boeing 767-300 aircraft, registration N363CM, attempted to land on the wrong runway.

The plane, operating flight ABX480 from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG), was cleared to land on Runway 13L but instead lined up towards Runway 13R, where other aircraft were present and preparing for takeoff or holding in position.

The incident was spotted by the Kennedy Tower controller at around 600 feet altitude, prompting an order for the plane to go around. This averted what could have been a significant runway conflict risk.
