Boeing has been selected to move forward in the development of the Indirect Fire Protection Capability (IFPC) Increment 2 defeat system's second interceptor. The company will continue onto the next phase, which includes a capability demonstration.

The competition for this project also included Lockheed Martin and RAFAEL Defense Systems, with only two firms moving forward to the next phase. This is an important step in the development of the IFPC Increment 2 defeat system's second interceptor.

A source familiar with the program told Defense Daily that Boeing welcomes the opportunity to continue working on this project. The selection of Boeing and another company will culminate in a capability demonstration, which is a key milestone in the development process.
