Boeing and Albany Engineered Composites Extend Partnership on 787 Composite Frames
Albany Engineered Composites (AEC), a segment of Albany International Corp. (NYSE: AIN), has secured a contract extension from Boeing (NYSE: BA) to manufacture composite fuselage frames for the 787 Dreamliner.
The agreement, which covers about 300 unique composite fuselage frames, including forward sections 41 and 43 and aft section 47, is an extension of their original partnership in 2014. The production will continue at AEC's facility in Salt Lake City, Utah.
AEC President Chris Stone expressed excitement over the continued partnership, stating that Albany is committed to delivering high-performance components at scale while advancing manufacturing efficiency and operational excellence. The agreement underscores the importance of composite materials in commercial aviation.
