Boeing and American Airlines have successfully completed the first landing gear replacement on a 737 MAX, marking an important milestone in the expansion of their maintenance program to the manufacturer's next-generation aircraft family. The intervention involved the supply and installation of completely overhauled and certified main and nose landing gear assemblies, along with their corresponding mounting kits.

This new model allows airlines to reduce the periods of ground immobilization for their aircraft and improve inventory cost management by not having to acquire or store spare parts.

As part of this expansion, Boeing is strengthening its global overhaul capacity by coordinating with certified maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) partners. The goal is to increase available inventory and shorten delivery times near the operational bases of their customers.
