Boeing and Lockheed Martin Cash In on Pentagon Contract Awards
The US defense budget continues to provide recurring funding to Boeing and Lockheed Martin through contract awards. The Pentagon announced nearly $1.9 billion in contracts involving two of its largest prime contractors, showing how the budget supports uncrewed systems and long-range tactical weaponry.
Boeing's MQ-25A Stingray has finally begun production after years of delays due to cost overruns and technical difficulties. The US Navy granted Boeing a fixed-price incentive contract worth $562 million to manufacture the first three production-ready aircraft, with initial deliveries expected in 2029.
Luckily for Lockheed Martin, it also received three separate contracts totaling more than $1.3 billion on the same day as Boeing's MQ-25A award. The contracts reflect the Pentagon's pressing need to replenish and enhance its inventory of long-range standoff weapons and mobile precision artillery.
