Boeing and SPEEA Resume Contract Talks Amid Union Demands

Negotiators from Boeing and the Society of Professional Engineering Employees Association (SPEEA) will meet on Monday to resume contract discussions.

The talks come after SPEEA's roughly 17,000 members overwhelmingly rejected Boeing's contract offer last week.

The union's top priority is larger and immediate guaranteed wage increases from Boeing, followed by more money for annual performance-based raises, according to a survey of nearly 13,000 members.

A work stoppage would further delay the certification of Boeing's 737 MAX 10 and 777-9 aircraft, which are already several years behind schedule.
