Boeing Bolsters Partnership with Qatar on Sustainable Aviation Goals

Boeing has reaffirmed its commitment to Qatar's aviation future and sustainability goals. The aerospace manufacturer has signed a comprehensive roadmap for sustainable growth and technological advancement with the Qatari government.

The partnership aims to support Qatar's National Vision 2030, which prioritizes operational efficiency. Boeing will deliver high-quality airplanes and services that meet these goals, said Shahab Matin, Managing Director of Commercial Marketing for the Middle East and Africa.

Central to this mission is environmental sustainability through fleet renewal and the adoption of modern technology. The 787 Dreamliner currently offers approximately 25 percent lower fuel use and emissions than its predecessors, while the upcoming 777-9 promises a further 20 percent reduction in consumption.

The partnership also involves the scaling of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), which can reduce lifecycle CO2 emissions by up to 80 percent compared to traditional petroleum jet fuel. As members of the World Economic Forum's Clean Skies for Tomorrow coalition, Boeing and Qatar Airways are working to establish a viable pathway for SAF adoption.
