Boeing Completes First 737 MAX Landing Gear Exchange with American Airlines
Boeing has successfully completed its first landing gear exchange for a 737 MAX aircraft with American Airlines, marking a key milestone in the company's Landing Gear Exchange Program. The program allows customers to swap out old landing gear assemblies for overhauled and certified ones, reducing downtime and spare parts burdens.
The exchange validated Boeing's ability to deliver fully overhauled main and nose landing gear assemblies ready to install, with installation kits provided. This approach has been proven effective for the 737 MAX platform, and Boeing is expanding its overhaul capacity and coordinating with certified MRO partners to make this service more widely available.
According to William Ampofo, senior vice president of Parts & Distribution and Supply Chain at Boeing Global Services, 'This milestone reinforces what our customers have known for years: Boeing's Landing Gear Exchange capability delivers predictable, safe and cost-effective outcomes.'
