Boeing Delivers 53 Jets Amid Delivery Delays and Portfolio Overhaul
Boeing Company (NYSE:BA) delivered 53 commercial jets in July, but delivery delays are forcing airlines to keep older jets longer, raising near-term demand for engine overhauls and maintenance on aging airframes. The company's backlog stands at a significant 6,791 commercial orders.
Boeing is also reshaping its portfolio by transferring Wisk Aero, SkyGrid, and Insitu to Archer in exchange for approximately 19.75% Class A stake, warrants for up to $200M equity, a board seat, and a tech-share deal. This move is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
Additionally, Boeing signed seven-year framework deals with the Department of Defense (DoD) and Raytheon to boost production of avionics, ejector assemblies, and components for SM-3 Block IB and IIA interceptors used in Aegis ships.
The company is also testing Odysight.ai's computer-vision predictive maintenance platform at two Boeing sites with demonstrations in select labs and test environments.
