Boeing Demands Suppliers Adopt Automation for Production Ramp-Up

Boeing's Chief Technology Officer Lane Ballard recently emphasized the need for suppliers to adopt automation in order to achieve ambitious production targets. Speaking at an industry event, Ballard noted that the aerospace industry had traditionally been a 'craftsman business,' relying on human labor and hand-built techniques.

'Now we're going to higher levels of automation, higher levels of efficiency,' he said.
