Boeing Engineer Sues Over Age Bias, PIP, and Firing
A Boeing engineer claims age bias led to his firing in 2025. In a complaint filed on September 1, 2026, the 61-year-old alleges that the company used its performance system against him and subjected him to retaliation.
The engineer says he was moved off his program in mid-2021, leaving him as the oldest member of his team. His age soon became a topic of conversation among colleagues, with one manager reportedly saying 'you're old, so you don't have any kids going on spring break.'
The engineer claims that he was issued a performance improvement plan (PIP) in 2022 for work that didn't exist, and continued to face scrutiny despite completing the plan and earning positive reviews.
