Boeing Engineers Back Four-Year Contract Proposal Amid Industry Pressure
Boeing engineers and technical staff may soon have a new contract after their union endorsed a four-year proposal from the company. The Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA) announced its recommendation on July 30, 2026, coinciding with Boeing's presentation of the offer.
The package includes two four-year agreements, one covering 13,000 engineers and scientists and another for 4,000 technicians, analysts, and planners. According to Boeing's chief engineer, Ben Nimmergut, the terms ensure market-leading pay and strong benefits.
The SPEEA bargaining committees will review the details over the next week before putting the proposal to a vote among affected members. If ratified, the contract would end years of labor friction between Boeing and its engineers and technical staff.
