Boeing Engineers Reach Tentative Agreement, Strike Threat Recedes
Boeing and its engineers have reached a tentative agreement on a new labor contract, reducing the immediate risk of another strike at the U.S. aircraft manufacturer.
The Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA) announced the agreement after weeks of negotiations with Boeing. Union members must still vote on the proposal before it can take effect.
The new four-year contract covers two bargaining units in the Puget Sound region, including approximately 12,000 engineers and about 5,000 technical employees. These workers have a crucial role across Boeing's commercial and defense operations, involved in aircraft design, testing, production support, and certification programs.
