Boeing Engineers Secure 10% Immediate Raise in New Four-Year Contract
Boeing engineers and technical workers have ratified a four-year contract with a 10% immediate pay raise, avoiding a potential strike. The deal was reached after Boeing improved its offer in mid-September following employees' rejection of an earlier proposal with 3% annual raises.
The contract, which includes 4% annual raises over the four-year term, was approved by two bargaining units represented by the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA). The professional unit voted in favor of the agreement with 67.62% support, while the technical unit passed it with 53.48% in favor.
With this agreement, Boeing can now focus on stabilizing and increasing production of its top-selling aircraft, including the 737 Max 10 and 777X, which are years behind schedule and require FAA certification. The near-term strike risk has eased, allowing the company to concentrate on meeting its production goals.
