Boeing Engineers Set to Resume Contract Talks After Rejected Offer
Boeing and engineers from the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA) are set to resume contract talks on September 8 after workers rejected a proposed four-year agreement.
The negotiations stalled when SPEEA members overwhelmingly rejected Boeing's offer on August 21, according to Reuters. A meeting was held on August 31 to discuss the possibility of resuming negotiations.
Workers are demanding higher pay increases, with an internal survey showing that the main demand is for a more substantial overall wage increase.
Boeing representatives stated that they aim to take the union's position into account and reach a solution that benefits both employees and the company, helping them remain competitive in the long term.
