Boeing Engineers Union Reaches Tentative Deal with 10% Wage Increase
Boeing has reached a tentative four-year contract agreement with its engineers' union, covering roughly 17,000 workers in the Puget Sound region. The new deal includes a 10% guaranteed wage increase effective October 16, followed by a 4% increase in March 2027 and 6% annual wage pools from 2028 through 2030.
The previous contract offer was rejected by union members in August, with 64% of engineers and about 72% of technical workers voting against it. However, the negotiating team has endorsed the new agreement, citing improvements to pay, working conditions, and relations with Boeing management.
While the agreement is a step towards stabilizing labor relations, Boeing still faces strike risk as union members have not yet ratified the deal. The contract's richer compensation package will also increase labor costs for the company.
